What you’ll do 

The Lead Tester is responsible for driving end-to-end testing delivery across projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes aligned with business and technical objectives. This role leads testing strategy, governance, and execution while collaborating closely with stakeholders in Agile or hybrid environments.

Due to the secure nature of this role, we are needing candidates that has Australian citizenship with preference to those with security clearance.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage testing activities across projects or workstreams to ensure quality outcomes
  • Define and implement test strategies, plans, and approaches aligned to delivery objectives
  • Coordinate testing activities across functional, integration, system, and UAT phases
  • Manage test schedules, environments, data, and dependencies
  • Review and approve test cases, scripts, and test evidence produced by the team
  • Defect management including triage, prioritisation, and coordination with delivery teams
  • Provide regular testing status, quality metrics, and risk reporting to stakeholders
  • Ensure testing aligns with governance, quality standards, and compliance requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement in testing practices, tools, and automation

Here’s what you need

  • 5+ years’ experience in Software Testing, with experience in a Lead Tester or Test Lead role
  • Strong experience across functional, integration, and system testing
  • Experience defining test strategies and managing end-to-end test delivery
  • Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jira, or equivalent)
  • Experience working in Agile and hybrid delivery environments
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and quality assurance best practices
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities
  • Australian citizenship with 3-5 years of continuous residency
