The Team:

The Latitude Risk Team is respected for their critical role in the support and implementation of innovative business projects. The function provides information, statistical analysis and recommendations to support, develop and implement risk and business activities with a focus on profitable business growth.

The role:

Responsible for bringing together specialist credit risk insights to support the Australian and New Zealand credit card portfolios. Collaborating closely with the specialised business unit to deliver recommendations and enable effective decision making and provide assurance over credit controls and in turn providing an effective risk culture.

It’s a key contact point for product, sales & operational teams to partner in the setting of strategies and initiatives to meet growth plans across the A&NZ credit cards portfolios.

Key responsibilities:

  • Optimise existing and develop future credit risk strategies for the A&NZ credit card portfolios by delivering clear analytics that are well documented, providing recommendations and driving agreement across key stakeholders.
  • Take ownership & accountability of strategy changes ensuring they are implemented as per the risk requirements. (This includes ensuring changes to credit risk strategies are fully tested & implemented in a timely manner).
  • Collaborate cross functionally and work within project teams to deliver on business initiatives and during this ensure the interests and requirements of the credit team are upheld.
  • Take an active role in external learnings leveraging a combination of data analytics, market intelligence and regulatory understanding to generate new ideas, challenge existing processes & strategies.
  • Facilitate such meetings, productions, presentations and stakeholder management that would be required for governance, portfolio / product review and audit purposes.

In the event of credit-related operational risk events, our Lead Analysts collaborate cross functionally and drive delivery of the actions required to close such events.

Who are we looking for:

  • You have been working in consumer credit risk analytics for years now, within a relevant industry – banking and finance, utilities or telecommunications to name a few.
  • Data mining and analytics using SQL and SAS is one of your key strengths, enabling you to make recommendations that create organisational value, allowing you to excel in this role.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and work under pressure to achieve deadlines.
  • Constantly seeking to challenge the way things are done, comfortable in making decisions & taking accountability.

You are able to command a room; and are comfortable engaging with a variety of stakeholders across all levels of the organisation, with excellent verbal and written communication skills that compliment your ability to present and influence your peers and customers.
