Lead Engineer

About the role 
 

We’re seeking a Lead Engineer to lead the development, maintenance, and support of Transurban’s increasingly complex and mission-critical suite of services that support our digital channels including the Rewards business.

As our Lead Engineer, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work.

Day-to-day, you will:  

• Drive the technical direction and delivery of software using Agile and DevOps practices, ensuring continuous delivery and integration

• Influence design principles, technical solutions, and the overall technical strategy in the digital space, while also conducting proof of concepts and technique/framework evaluations

• Collaborate closely with designers, product owners, user experience and content specialists to deliver elegant, simple, and cost-effective applications

• Lead the analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex system issues

• Mentor and coach development teams across various projects

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including: 

• At least 7 years experience as a Software Developer and Technical Lead, building secure, robust, and maintainable systems

• Leadership experience in architecting, designing, and implementing software solutions

• Experience in leading the development of Restful APIs and integrating complex third-party systems

• Deep expertise in NodeJS and TypeScript, with a strong background in serverless applications on AWS, including Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and Fargate

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non technical stakeholders
