This role is for a Property Lawyer with 1-3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE). The position, based in Sydney, is with Endeavour Group and offers a hybrid work model with a minimum of two days in the office each week.

As a Property Lawyer for Endeavour Group, you will be responsible for providing legal services and advice on a wide range of property matters for the company's retail and hotel portfolio throughout Australia. Your main duties will include negotiating and documenting agreements for leases, renewals, sales, and acquisitions.

You will also provide legal guidance on disputes with landlords and assist in securing planning permits, even for contested cases. The role requires you to offer strategic, risk-balanced legal advice and collaborate with other property lawyers, internal stakeholders, and external partners to achieve key objectives. You will also be expected to identify and challenge current processes to find opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Assisting with negotiating and documenting agreements for lease, lease renewals, options and variations and leases to assist with the expansion of Endeavour Group’s retail and hotel portfolio across Australia.
  • Assisting with negotiating and documenting acquisition agreements to assist with the expansion of Endeavour Group’s retail and hotel portfolio across Australia.
  • Assisting with negotiating and documenting agreements of sale.
  • Providing legal advice and guidance on landlord disputes and related matters.
  • Supporting Endeavour Group to obtain planning permits for opportunities within Endeavour Group’s property portfolio across Australia; a number of which will likely be contested.
  • Providing strategic and risk balanced legal advice.
  • Supporting and working closely with other property lawyers, and also senior property lawyers (both internally and externally).
  • Partnering with lawyers and stakeholders across the Endeavour Group and working collaboratively to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Constructively challenging our ways of working to identify opportunities for continuous improvement

Qualifications

Now let’s talk about you:

  • Current practising certificate, Bachelor of Laws with 1-3 years PQE.
  • Property law experience with a well-regarded law firm or in-house legal team in commercial and retail leasing and property development- across Australia.
  • Filing management and updating matter management systems.
  • Managing approvals and document execution.
  • Highly self-motivated and dedicated to meet and exceed key performance indicators.
  • High levels of resilience to manage priorities within tight timeframes and within a rapidly evolving business environment.
  • Good commercial acumen.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Constructive and strong interpersonal skills.
