The role

Working closely with our Corporate Partner Michael Linehan, an exceptional opportunity exists for a Lawyer (2-5 PQE) to join our Corporate, M&A and Capital Markets team in Melbourne. You will have the opportunity to work on a range of varied corporate matters, including private M&A transactions, joint ventures and general corporate advisory work (including corporate governance and regulatory compliance.

You will have exposure to clients which include a mix of ASX and international listed public companies and private companies, both domestic and international, investment banks and corporate finance/advisory firms. You will play a leading role on key aspects of transactions, including transaction structuring, drafting and negotiation.  The successful candidate will also be comfortable mentoring junior lawyers and project managing matters from initial stages through to completion.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 2-5 years post qualification experience across a range of corporate transactions, preferably in a top tier firm environment
  • A strong academic record
  • The ability to prioritise your time across a number of busy matters
  • A strong client service focus and work ethic is essential
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills will also be required for building client relationships and maintaining a positive team environment
