About the Opportunity

Crawford TPA is an AFS-licensed, Lloyd’s-accredited third-party administrator delivering end-to-end claims management solutions across Australia and globally.

We are seeking law graduates and students to join our team as Claims Consultants. In this role, you will apply your legal knowledge to assess indemnity, liability, and damages across a diverse claims portfolio within a highly regulated environment.

This is an alternative legal career path offering long-term growth in the insurance industry, exposure to complex matters, and regular engagement with senior stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of personal injury and property liability claims end-to-end 
  • Assess liability, coverage, and quantum in line with legal and regulatory frameworks 
  • Provide technical advice and make sound, evidence-based decisions 
  • Liaise with solicitors, experts, and clients to progress claims effectively 
  • Participate in claim reviews and strategy discussions with key clients 
  • Identify risks, manage reserves, and deliver cost-effective outcomes 
  • Handle sensitive or complex claims and support complaint resolution 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and stay updated on legal and industry changes 

About You

You are a law student or graduate seeking a career outside traditional legal practice, with strong analytical and communication skills.


Key requirements:

  • Understanding of tort law, civil procedure, and insurance principles 
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and sound judgement 
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt in a dynamic environment 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Confidence engaging with stakeholders and negotiating outcomes 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 

Tertiary qualifications in law, business, or insurance are preferred but not essential.


Additional Information

  • Applicants must have Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency 
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a national police check
