An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Junior Accountant to join our Global Corporate Head Office based in Dandenong South. Working alongside our Senior Finance team, the Junior Accountant position is a varied and challenging role which will be responsible for processing, supporting financial inputs and producing financial results for a series of companies and trusts.
Daniels is a large international business with operations across South Africa, UK, Canada, USA and Australia. Operational activities included transport, manufacturing of products, distribution and treatment of healthcare waste. Daniels is a highly recognised brand in the healthcare space.
Daniels also has 2 large charities with over $50m invested, and a large growing property group and investment arm investing into direct investment, managed funds and other PE type activities.
Key Responsibilties:
- Financial Reporting- Prepare monthly reporting packs and associated reports for assigned business entities and assist with actual and forecast cash flow reports for Corporate entities
- General Ledger- Process month-end journals into Microsoft BC (all relevant entities), Perform balance sheet accounts reconciliations and analyses after finalising end of month (all relevant entities)
- Reconciliations- Maintain fixed asset registers- Process and reconcile intercompany transactions, Reconcile accounts of non-operating entities on a quarterly basis. Prepare weekly and monthly bank reconciliations for local and foreign currency accounts
- Compliance- Assist with the preparation of BAS Returns for assigned business entities in multiple jurisdictions
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor degree majoring in Accounting
- Must have 1-2 years' experience working in a Public Accounting Firm
- Strong Excel skills
- Good understanding of reconciliations
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competent user of software packages and Microsoft Office software (advanced Excel skills)
- Flexible and able to handle change easily
- Organised and works well in a team environment
- Willing to undertake their CPA/CA designation
- Positive attitude with energy and a sense of fun - someone who enjoys contributing to a vibrant and supportive team culture
