Job Description

JRT Manager (Joint Reactor Team)  - Submarines

Full Time

Devonport

An exciting, new, permanent leadership role as a Joint Reactor Team (JRT) Manager has arisen at HM Naval Base, Plymouth to lead a collaborative team working side by side with our Industrial Partner, Babcock as well as the MOD and Royal Navy.

With support from Babcock, Royal Navy and R-R representatives in your team, you will develop the capability of JRT as a relatively new collaborative initiative to quickly build arrangements and relationships to drive efficiencies into the effective delivery of maintenance on the naval reactor plant of the Royal Navy’s current class submarines in the dockyard.  You will work closely with existing R-R arrangements such as the REO and the other managers within the Devonport JRT and reach out into various aspects of the wider Babcock, MoD and Rolls-Royce organisations, to develop opportunities and grow new capabilities where identified.

Together with strong leadership and communication skills, this role will require significant engineering experience and knowledge in the planning and execution of submarine maintenance periods, particularly with respect to that relevant to the reactor plant.  The JRT manager will report internally to the R-R Devonport Site Exec, but also be expected to engage with the Babcock SSN Programme Director.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
