About the role:
IT Operations Project Manager – RSM Australia
Locations: Melbourne, Sydney, Perth or Brisbane
Hybrid | Full-time
We are expanding our national IT Operations team and are seeking an IT Operations Project Manager to deliver business-critical technology projects that enable our people and clients to thrive.

As an IT Operations Project Manager, you will lead and manage one or more IT Operations projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from initiation and planning through to delivery and closure. Working closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external partners, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality.
This role will suit someone with strong foundational project management skills, excellent communication, and the drive to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative national team.
Key Responsibilities
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop detailed business cases, project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate resources across technical, support, product and vendor teams.
- Identify risks and issues, and ensure effective mitigation and escalation strategies.
- Maintain strong communication channels with stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Track project progress and prepare clear, timely reporting.
- Prepare Project Initiation Documents (PID), benefit realisation plans, and close-out documentation.
- Ensure seamless project transition into BAU operations.
- Foster trust with internal clients through reliable delivery and professional communication.
- Travel to RSM offices as required.
About you:
You are an organised and adaptable project manager who can juggle competing priorities, work effectively under pressure, and build strong relationships across teams.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (PMI).
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience managing IT or business technology projects.
- Tertiary qualification in IT, Business, or related discipline.
Demonstrated Skills & Attributes
- Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and presentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage cross-functional activities and competing deadlines.
- Understanding of current IT trends and operational environments.
- Flexibility to work outside standard hours if required.
