We are looking for an Investor Relations Manager to join our Funds team. This role will be instrumental in managing key relationships with our institutional investors and asset consultants, while helping drive growth across our fund offerings.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical investment knowledge with commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills. You will act as a key conduit between internal teams and external investors, ensuring smooth information flows and Octopus Australia’s products are well-positioned, clearly understood, and aligned with the evolving needs of the market - particularly as Australia transitions to a renewable energy future.

Established in 2018, Octopus Australia is a dynamic multi-disciplinary team of over 60 highly skilled people which spans the expertise required to realise and operate a renewable energy and storage portfolio.

With an existing multi-GW portfolio of operating and development assets, including solar, wind and battery storage across the country. We are continuing to grow to create a long-term business that can deliver a firmed energy product to meet the evolving needs of Australia’s energy future.

Job Description

  • Act as a senior product and investment specialist, responsible for articulating the investment strategy, performance, and positioning of our funds to institutional clients and consultants.
  • Manage due diligence processes, including RFPs, RFIs, consultant ratings, and bespoke investor queries.
  • Lead the development of product messaging and investor materials, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with market expectations.
  • Be a key relationship manager for institutional clients and asset consultants, representing the product and investment capability with credibility and insight.
  • Collaborate with portfolio management, legal, distribution, and marketing teams to ensure product integrity, consistency of messaging, and alignment with investor needs.
  • Contribute to fund design, strategy refinement, and market positioning based on investor feedback and market insights.
  • Stay across key developments in the superannuation and asset consulting landscape to ensure our offering remains competitive and fit for purpose.
  • Provide internal training and insights to ensure commercial teams are equipped to represent the funds accurately and effectively.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative, high-performance culture.

Qualifications

Ideally, you will have some or all of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant industry experience required. 
  • Strong experience in investment product, investment specialist, or institutional client-facing roles within funds management, superannuation, or asset consulting.
  • Deep understanding of the Australian institutional investment landscape, including the needs and decision-making processes of super funds and asset consultants.
  • Technical knowledge of unlisted assets (e.g., infrastructure, real assets) and how they contribute to portfolio construction and member outcomes.
  • Experience supporting or leading due diligence and consultant engagement processes.
  • Familiarity with fund structures, investment mandates, legal documentation, and reporting requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to explain complex investment strategies clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Confident using data, reporting platforms, and digital tools to support engagement and communication.
