About Antler

Antler backs the world’s most ambitious founders from the very start. Founded on the belief that innovation is the key to building a better future, we partner with people across six continents to launch and scale high-potential startups that address meaningful opportunities and challenges. Knowing that exceptional founders can come from anywhere with any background, we have offices in more than 25 cities, including New York, London, Berlin, Stockholm, Bangalore, Singapore, Seoul, and Sydney.

Our global community supports founders on deep business model validation, initial capital, expansion support, and follow-on funding. Fueled by a personal passion that goes beyond traditional investing, we have helped create and invested in more than 1,500 startups across a wide range of industries and technologies.

A better future won’t happen automatically—the world needs talented, determined, and resilient people to build it. Antler team members are part of an ambitious global community dedicated to helping the most driven founders move the world forward.
In Australia, we invest at inception and pre-seed, continuing to back teams as they raise capital, hire talent, build product, and scale. Locally, we manage $120m in FUM and have made 170 investments since 2019. For founders who go on to build breakout companies, Antler Elevate—the $285M emerging growth fund—invests beyond the early stages, managed through offices in London, Singapore, and New York.

The Role

We’re looking for an Investment Manager who brings analytical depth, strong founder empathy, and operational excellence to support the founders Antler has already backed and to contribute across our investment workflows. You’ll sit within the Portfolio function, partnering directly with teams on fundraising, strategy, and early execution — while shaping the processes, insights, and systems that make Antler’s portfolio function world-class.

You’ll also play a meaningful role in the investment side of the business: supporting due diligence, shaping investment memos, and contributing to Investment Committee discussions. This role is ideal for someone with 3–5 years in consulting, investment banking, transaction services, or a similarly analytical environment who wants to apply that toolkit in a fast-moving startup and VC setting.

Responsibilities

  • Own core portfolio processes, systems, reporting, and founder-facing tools
  • Manage quarterly reviews and maintain high-quality data for internal and LP reporting
  • Build insights and models that inform follow-on decisions and portfolio construction
  • Lead onboarding and the ongoing experience for newly invested founders
  • Support founders on narrative development, investor materials, data preparation, and fundraising
  • Provide structured and ad hoc coaching to help teams progress toward their next round
  • Share relevant market insights and opportunities across the portfolio
  • Build strong relationships across the VC, angel, and operator ecosystem and lead portfolio community touchpoints
  • Partner with Marketing to highlight wins and strengthen portfolio visibility
  • Contribute to due diligence, prepare IC materials, and collaborate with global investment teams on cross-vehicle opportunities

Requirements

  • 3–5 years in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, transaction services, or similar analytical environment
  • Strong modelling ability, commercial thinking, and comfort with early-stage metrics
  • Clear and structured communicator comfortable engaging with founders and investors
  • Highly organised and able to run multiple workflows in parallel
  • High-empathy mindset with the ability to deliver direct, actionable feedback
  • Curious, proactive, and comfortable operating in ambiguity
  • Collaborative and relationship-driven

Not essential, but nice to have:

  • Familiarity with modern AI workflows and automation tools
  • Experience in VC or early-stage startups
  • Experience as a founder or early operator at a venture-backed company

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
