Investigations Analyst

About Turing:
Turing is the world's leading research accelerator for frontier AI labs and a trusted partner for global enterprises deploying advanced AI systems. Turing helps organizations turn AI capability into reliable, production-grade systems that deliver measurable results.

Role Overview:
We're looking for an Investigations Analyst to support our security investigations function, focused on fraud and insider threat. This is a hands-on role for someone with sharp analytical instincts, sound judgment, and the discretion to handle sensitive matters carefully. You'll work cases from signal to resolution — gathering and analyzing evidence, piecing together what happened, and documenting it clearly and objectively.

You'll partner with senior investigators, Detection & Response, Legal, and HR, and play a key part in protecting the company and our customers from fraud and insider risk.

What You'll Do:

  • Investigate fraud and insider threat cases: gather evidence, analyze data across multiple sources, and reconstruct events.
  • Triage alerts and reports of potential misconduct, fraud, or insider activity, and escalate appropriately.
  • Analyze logs, transactions, and behavioral signals to identify anomalies and build case narratives.
  • Document investigations thoroughly and objectively, maintaining careful evidence handling and chain of custody.
  • Partner with Detection & Response, Legal, and HR on sensitive matters, following established process and discretion.
  • Contribute to investigation playbooks and help identify patterns that inform new detections and prevention.
  • Handle confidential information with the utmost integrity and care.

Education & Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in investigations, fraud analysis, security operations, intelligence analysis, or a related analytical role.

Requirements:

  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to work across disparate data sources and draw well-supported conclusions.
  • Judgment & Discretion: Sound judgment, discretion, and ethics when handling sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Written Communication: Clear, objective writing for case documentation.
  • Data Analysis: Comfort querying and analyzing logs or transactional data.
  • Organization: Detail-oriented, able to manage multiple cases at once.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with insider threat, fraud detection, or e-discovery/forensics tooling.
  • Familiarity with SIEM, DLP, or UEBA data sources.
  • Relevant certifications (CFE or similar), or a background in law enforcement, intelligence, or forensics.
  • Scripting or data analysis skills (SQL, Python) for working with large datasets.

Success Looks Like:
Within the first few months, independently working cases end to end, producing clear and well-supported investigation documentation, and becoming a trusted, discreet contributor to the investigations team.

Salary: 75k USD

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
