The Internal Communications Manager plays a key role in the broader Communications function, a multi-disciplinary team which is transforming the communications and engagement experience across the organisation. We are seeking an experienced professional to take ownership of internal communications and engagement activities, designing and delivering compelling communications to capture the attention of the diverse workforce.

This is a full-time, permanent role (hybrid working available) with regular travel to Thales sites and events around the country.

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Internal Communications Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Design, develop and deliver end-to-end internal communications and engagement campaigns and activities which are aligned to our purpose, values and culture ambitions, and support the delivery of Thales’ strategy.
  • Day-to-day operation of internal and digital channels, including newsletters, email communications and the intranet.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, providing advice, supporting delivery and ensuring consistency across business-level communications.
  • Prepare compelling content for internal channels, which reaches all team members and captures the attention of a varied workforce.
  • Deliver work at pace, in a complex working environment, while managing shifting priorities and strict deadlines.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with care.
  • Maintain metrics and feedback loops to support a culture of continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or similar preferred.
  • Proven ability managing the development and delivery of internal communications and engagement campaigns which are strategic, engaging and measurable.
  • Experience communicating to a varied workforce of corporate and operational team members (highly desired).
  • Strong storytelling skills, including writing and editing for multiple channels.
  • Strategic thinking, strong judgement, creative flair and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding written and digital communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to connect with colleagues across all levels, backgrounds and working environments.
  • A proactive, creative and solutions-oriented approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a local and international team.
  • Proficiency with internal communications platforms and applications.
