At Anduril Australia we are developing multi-domain unmanned systems that will leverage unsupervised autonomy for the delivery of integrated multi-mission capability to our customers. These projects require Senior Mechanical Engineers with broad experience to drive the delivery a variety of software enabled hardware capabilities to our customers. Anduril Mechanical Engineers rapidly develop expertise in new domains in order to architect, design, deliver, support, and evolve next generation capabilities through the entire product life-cycle.
Anduril Australia’s Melbourne office is the home of Anduril’s Air Programs portfolio in Australia, with this job providing the successful candidate the opportunity to play a key role in the development of new products & capabilities.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Work collaboratively with senior Systems and Integration & Test engineers to assist in the fabrication, build and test of key components of complex robotic systems that are deployed to customers, focussed on the delivery of value to the end-user
- Work as a member of a small but rapidly growing multi-disciplinary high achieving engineering team which embraces and empowers engineers from all backgrounds
- Work hands on to build, integrate and test complex and cutting-edge robotic systems,
- Support design and integration of subsystems and components, including managing key interfaces to larger networks of autonomous and manned assets
- Develop, build and operate physical integration environments to support system maturity efforts
- Write, review, and execute test plans for development, integration, factory and sea testing
- Support day-to-day test operations for Android air platforms, including conducting pre-mission testing, launch and recovery, vehicle tasking, and data analysis
- Take on responsibilities of the hands-on troubleshooting, repair, operation, and maintenance of test assets in the field
- Display a capacity to learn and grow individually, while mentoring junior team members effectively, building team cohesion and capacity
- Travel to co-locate with end-users, vendors, or the integration and test team up to 10% of the time
- Be trusted and empowered to solve complex engineering challenges
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years experience in systems engineering, and integration and testing
- Familiarity with concepts of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and control theory
- Knowledge of electronics troubleshooting and ability to use basic test equipment
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- A sincere commitment to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance
- Experience with Linux and command line interfaces as well as software debugging is highly desirable
- Experience with Integration and Testing of assets in the Aerospace domain is highly desirable

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
