The Opportunity

KBR is seeking an Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Manager to join the ILS team within the Integrated Soldier Systems Branch (ISSB) in Melbourne. This role serves as a pivotal logistics authority within the organisation and is responsible for ensuring the efficient logistics activities aligned with operational and contractual requirements.

The ILS Manager will also anticipate and address complex logistical challenges, leveraging domain expertise to drive continuous improvement and strategic alignment, through mentorship, innovative problem solving, and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyse, organise, plan, and administer various phases of provisioning, spares, and maintenance and repair activities for one or more programs using established procedures. In addition, advise and support the acquisition phase of program capability solutions that will be transitioned to sustainment, cognisant of the sustainment requirements.
  • Review and implement contractual requirements, technical data, operational concepts, customer usage patterns, product sustainment requirements and practices, and related reports to determine spares provisioning and maintenance/repair requirements.
  • Assist in developing overarching integrated logistics support plans to manage the acquisition and transition to product sustainment, cognisant of the sustainment requirements to ensure an informed manageable handover.
  • Stakeholder engagement for programs and capability logistical support, including close relationship with the systems engineering teams.
  • Anticipate internal and external business challenges, such as, legislative, regulatory, safety and environmental responsibilities and compliance.
  • Solve unique and complex problems that affect the business.
  • Mentor and advise project teams to help achieve milestones and objectives.
  • Influence program, project, or service direction and resource allocation within general divisional/group policies and industry guidelines.
  • Communicate complex ideas effectively, anticipate objections, and persuade stakeholders, often at senior levels.

As the ideal candidate you will bring

  • Tertiary degree in business-related disciplines focused on supply chain, purchasing, logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in ILS or logistics engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Defence or adjacent industry.
  • Experience in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) disciplines.
  • Knowledge and experience in Defence logistics management systems
  • Understanding of the Australian Defence contracting framework and procurement rules (highly desirable).
  • Hold and maintain an NV1 Defence Security Clearance and meet applicable ITAR requirements.
