The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
The person hired for the position of Instructional Designer will build various training content, materials, and development processes. This role is intended for a highly motivated self-starter in creating excellent learning experiences. You keep up with learning technology developments and the field of commercial training to design and re-design engaging and interactive content, provide a deeper understanding of the subject matter and relate better to the targeted learners. You enjoy both the design workflow and the learning structure and have never met a topic you couldn't develop training for. You have a willingness to work very hard to see your vision through to reality, with a strong eye for visual appeal and graphic design. Projects and initiatives will vary.

As an Instructional Designer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Advise and consult with SMEs to guide the process of learning needs and training solutions, based on adult instructional theory and best practices
  • Contributes to design of new instructional modules & courses and re-development of existing instructional modules and courses
  • Implements modern learning technologies in process of course creation
  • Actively participates in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, complies with professional and quality standards complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with Solventum’s values and ethical standards

Your Skills and Expertise 
 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher AND (5) years of experience with multiple course authoring modalities, including video, HTML5, Camtasia, SCOs such as Articulate and others.
  • Minimum of five (5) years designing and developing eLearning

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience in creating learning simulations for software
  • Video and animation experience
  • Professional training in any of the following: Adult Education, Organisational Learning, education Technology, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Educational Psychology or related field
  • Background in healthcare helpful
  • Skills include big-picture thinking, visual and written storytelling
  • Interpersonal skills and judgment in order to interact effectively with a broad spectrum of people, both individually and in groups is required.

Work location: remote

Travel: May include up to 10% travel
