Instructional Designer
It’s Alma’s mission to fill the gaps that exist in the broader healthcare ecosystem, so that we can remove barriers to quality care. As an Instructional Designer on Alma’s Customer Experience team, your role will be to curate empowering and effective educational experiences about healthcare for audiences at all levels of expertise.
You will develop videos, infographics, and async and live lessons to engage audiences with multiple learning styles and drive positive learning outcomes. Your content will enable customer service agents and Alma providers and their clients not only to use our platform effectively, but also to understand how Alma can help them to achieve their goals within our complex insurance environment.
In addition, you will use data-driven insights to understand which educational methods and assets are most effective across each of our support channels (including email, our help center, and our internal knowledge base). Based on these learnings, you will develop and maintain a set of training best practices to guide our teams in educating providers and clients.
What you’ll do:
- In collaboration with the Alma Product team, optimize the educational impact of Alma’s Support Center, so that it becomes a value-adding product in its own right for providers and clients new to insurance.
- Build provider and client engagement with Alma’s insurance education, and make recommendations for new tooling to encourage self-service
- Develop and execute on a video strategy for the Alma Support Center, so that we can offer both product demos and broader educational materials to help providers and clients understand how insurance works.
- Collaborate with the CX Training team to optimize learning experiences for internal staff, so that Alma team members can build confidence supporting and educating providers and clients on insurance topics.
- Identify key metrics for provider and client insurance learning, and hold our team accountable to growth of these metrics over time.
Who you are:
- You have 4-6 years of Instructional Design experience, preferably educating both employees and general audiences.
- You have expertise balancing highly technical learning objectives with strategies for learner engagement.
- You have a clear pedagogical approach and find creative and diverse ways to achieve these outcomes for audiences with diverse learning styles.
- You are comfortable measuring concrete learning outcomes and iterating to improve skills development for your audience.

- You are comfortable with tech, often an early adopter, and have extensive experience with CRM tools. Experience with Zendesk and / or with an LMS such as Docebo is a huge plus.
