The Opportunity

As the Innovation and Transformation Director, you will lead creation and operationalisation  of a strategic innovation and transformation program within the context of a major infrastructure program business and inside a client-side environment. You will play a key role in influencing outcomes and work collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

Success in this role will rely on your ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders including client, specialist consultant and KBR team members. You will navigate competing priorities and expectations to drive alignment, manage risk, budget and support the team to deliver outcomes which uplift the team’s delivery of the client’s program. You will also demonstrate an ability to think and act strategically. You will be able to identify and understand a business’ contexts and its emerging risks and opportunities and design appropriate action plans in response.

As a key member of the leadership team, you will be required to:

  • Build positive, trusting and effective relationships across a range of stakeholders and achieve alignment on strategy and execution plans
  • Lead the transformation and innovation generational change agenda for an enterprise program. Through a robust approach to the discovery phase, including diagnostics and maturity assessments, develop transformation and efficiency initiatives and plans aligned with agreed outcome objectives
  • Explore the client’s perceptions of change need, options and priorities and combining this with a change management approach sensitive to the business’ change capability and capacity expand KBR’s initial offering into a comprehensive strategy, change plan and execution pathway.
  • Lead the design of pilot programs and robust stress and success tests. Lead the critical evaluation of pilots and refine strategy and execution plans accordingly
  • Underpin approaches with an international best in class mindset, LEAN thinking and benefits realisation at their centre.
  • Lead the roll-out of programs and transition into BAU including measurement of benefits to demonstrate KBR has delivered on its commitments with certainty, confidence and transparency
  • Be accountable for the outputs of specialist capability, mapping out a course for the engagement of specialist subconsultants and international subject matter experts and ensuring a pathway for their iterative contributions represent value for money

  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise change, innovation and transformation programs
  • Track record of strategic leadership, anticipating needs and opportunities, proactively crafting appropriate responses and implementing data based decision making
  • Strong communication and reporting skills with experience working across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail in reporting
