Indirect Tax Specialist, ANZ 

 

Are you an Indirect Tax Specialist who can turn complex compliance challenges into practical solutions for our customers? Thomson Reuters are looking for someone to drive market growth across ANZ for the Indirect Tax Portfolio including market insight and customer acquisition.  

 

This role combines product segment expertise with sales specialization to develop and execute go-to-market plans, generate new business opportunities, provide sales support, and leverage market and customer insights to strengthen product positioning and revenue growth.  

 

This role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne. 

 

About the Role  

In this opportunity as Indirect Tax Specialist, you will:  

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies and business plans to accelerate growth and customer acquisition for the Indirect Tax Portfolio across ANZ, with strategic alignment to Asia. 

  • Drive sales performance in priority markets by partnering with Account Management, Partnerships, and broader sales teams to build pipeline and convert opportunities using deep product expertise. 

  • Prioritise new business development within existing accounts and net-new customers through targeted campaigns, executive presentations, and solution proposals. 

  • Provide specialist pre-sales and sales enablement support, including customer engagements, proposal development and architect solutions to complex problems. 

  • Lead market and segment research to track competitor activity, identify customer needs, and translate insights into actionable sales and product strategies. 

  • Optimise product positioning, messaging, and pricing using market insights and performance metrics to meet commercial objectives. 

  • Collaborate with Product Management to evaluate and prioritise new content, features, and product opportunities, while ensuring consistent, high-quality sales collateral and accountability for agreed growth and quality metrics. 

 

About You 

You’re a fit for the role of Indirect Tax Specialist if you have the following required qualifications:  

  • Demonstrated experience in Indirect tax across Australia, gained in industry, consulting, or a professional services environment. 

  • Proven subject matter expert or go-to-market leader with deep industry and market knowledge, and clear accountability for building pipeline and closing complex, value-based opportunities. 

  • Strong track record of delivering new business growth and expanding within existing accounts and winning new customers 

  • Confidence working with finance, legal, and operational stakeholders to gather requirements, influence decisions, and drive timely outcomes. 

  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute sales strategies that solve complex customer challenges and accelerate regional growth. 

  • Highly effective at building executive-level customer and internal relationships, translating complex concepts into clear value messages, presenting to senior stakeholders, and influencing key decision-makers to drive action.
