About the role:

We are looking for an ICT Design Engineer to business partner with Construction and Engineering Teams on Data Centre Construction Projects. The incumbent will be responsible for Basis of Design, Reference Architecture and will lead discussions related to Operational Technology (OT) service integration within our facilities. This role is a blend of strategy and execution, and the incumbent will be required to switch between Design Manager during detailed design phase to Project Manager during facility commissioning stages. Previous experience with Operational Technology environments and Telemetry/SCADA Systems will be highly beneficial.

Key responsibilities include:


•      Lead implementation and integration of complex ICT and OT solutions for multiple parallel Data Centre construction projects

•      Manage and maintain the ICT and OT Basis of Design and Scalable Reference Design for builds. This includes appropriate level of redundancy while optimising solutions cost

•      Translate the ICT and OT components of the Reference Design into Detailed Design and drawings. This includes location of key technology infrastructure components

•      Support the development of Bill of Materials and other budgetary activities within construction project

•      Support the Construction Manager and Project Managers in vendor and service provider management tasks

•      Ensure the compliance of the adopted solution with the Reference Design and assure the Basis of Design is followed

•      Work with CDC Design Authority to manage any identified design deviations

•      Co-develop Acceptance into Service requirements with BAU teams and support the verification and validation activities

•      Provide an engagement point for construction related technology escalations

•      Work with the appropriate SMEs within the team to respond to construction requests in a timely manner

•      Other duties as directed from time to time


About you: 

•      Minimum 8 years’ demonstrated experience in ICT network design engineering roles.

•      Computer Science or Engineering Degree in a relevant field: ICT, Communications, Mechatronics or Electronics, or equivalent experience.

•      High attention to detail and logical/analytical thought processes.

•      The ability to resolve issues and work to tight deadlines within a changing environment

•      Strong documentation and compliance skills


Essential:

Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
