About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HSE Training Manager to join our well-established Sime Industrial Group Safety branch. This is a 12 Months Fixed Term opportunity based out of our Acacia Ridge QLD, office.

Reporting to the Executive Manager - Systems, Risks Assurance and Training the primary responsibility of this role will be to  lead the development, design, and implementation of frameworks and programs to build and improve HSE training and capability across Sime Industrial.

As an experienced HSE Training Manager, you will develop modern, context-relevant safety leadership and foundational HSE programs, ensuring consistent delivery through trainer upskilling, and tracking key KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:

This role will involve the following key duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and rollout of safety leadership and core HSE training programs across Sime Industrial in consultation with Safety leadership.
  • Conduct training needs analysis and audits to ensure training quality, sufficiency, and alignment with operational requirements.
  • Oversee the design, delivery, and governance of safety and compliance training, including eLearning and blended learning approaches.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to ensure training is role-appropriate, culturally relevant, and aligned with organisational goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement of training systems, content, and delivery methods.
  • Travel to multiple sites within the organisation once a quarter

Essential requirements

 The successful applicant will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and attributes: 

  • Extensive experience (7+ years) in delivering and facilitating training for large audiences, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven ability to design and implement impactful training programs and drive change in complex environments.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Demonstrated capability in leading workforce development, promoting wellbeing, and fostering inclusive and safety-focused cultures.
  • Ability to quickly understand and apply WHS requirements across diverse regional contexts.
  • Experience working in a multinational organisation with operations across multiple geographic locations.
  • Full Work rights in Australia
