About the Role:
The High-Voltage (HV) Lead, working within the Operations Engineering team, supports the broader day-to-day operation of all High Voltage electrical systems across the CDC ANZ portfolio. The role is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation, maintenance, and governance of high voltage electrical systems within CDC Data Centre environment. This role supports a team of technical subject matter experts, ensuring compliance with creation of company operational standards, risk management, and best practices for critical infrastructure. The HV Lead provides expertise in procedural review, risk gap analysis, change management, and supports continual improvement of High Voltage systems and their operation.
Other responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with Design Engineering, Facilities, ICT and Operations teams to deliver optimised data centre solutions that support growth and scalability.
- Establish and maintain centralised SOPs, EOPs and HV switching and safety programs in partnership with Data Centre Operations.
- Lead high‑voltage (HV) switching programs, isolations and return‑to‑service activities in live operational environments.
- Participate in the Technical Change Advisory Board to review and approve proposed works across all operational sites.
- Provide operational feedback to construction and design teams to support continuous improvement across new and upcoming data centre builds.
- Act as a subject matter expert for HV operations and HV incident investigations.
- Contribute to high‑risk activity (HRA) planning related to energy isolation and critical work.
- Ensure all SOPs, EOPs and MOPs meet industry standards, operational best practice and business requirements.
- Develop HV procedures, materials and guidance to ensure safe, compliant operations for staff and contractors.
- Support the evaluation and selection of HV equipment and systems, including lifecycle replacement planning.
- Prepare engineering documentation, reports and presentations relating to HV deliverables.
- Oversee maintenance standards for HV systems to ensure compliance with critical infrastructure and utility best practice.

You bring:
- Strong hands‑on experience working with HV electrical systems in critical or complex environments.
- A process‑driven mindset with a genuine appreciation for governance, standards, and risk management.
- Confidence reviewing SOPs, EOPs, MOPs and identifying gaps or improvement opportunities.
- Experience supporting change management, procedural updates, and technical assessments.
- A collaborative approach, working well with engineering, operations, facilities, and SMEs.
Essential:
Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
