As Head of Product for HR Services, you’ll shape the future direction of platforms that directly impact workforce safety and integrity. This is a Melbourne-based role (Docklands) within a small, focused team of product managers and product owners/analysts.

What you'll do:

  • People Leadership: Drive and manage team performance, providing coaching and direction, and proactively identify and recruit talent.

  • Market & Product Strategy: Demonstrate a deep understanding of customer needs through market research, drive execution of strategic priorities, and define new opportunities.

  • Product Definition & Planning: Understand the vision and strategy for product portfolios, drive execution, and provide direction for business case creation.

  • Product Delivery & Launch: Collaborate with product development management on the product development process, understanding trade-offs and driving alignment.

  • Growth & Portfolio Management: Understand product performance throughout the lifecycle and drive actions to ensure attainment of revenue and margin objectives.

  • Overall Product Performance: Be responsible for the overall product performance from inception through sunset.

  • Product Roadmap: Create product roadmaps, identify delivery channels, and define product development needs.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Define product requirements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring products to market.

  • Strategic Marketing: Establish marketing strategies, including communication, packaging, pricing, and future product development.

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Identify and resolve problems, making decisions guided by policies and the department’s business plan, often amidst ambiguity.

What experience you need:

  • 10+ years of product management experience.

  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience as a team lead, or leading other product management individuals through influence, within a highly matrixed environment and across product portfolios containing multiple products.

  • Expertise in writing detailed product requirements is fundamental and required, demonstrating a solid understanding of product design, commercial models, and packaging discussions.

  • Experienced in required Product tools (Aha, JIRA, Figma).

  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of customer needs through market and industry research and analysis of competitors, and uses strong knowledge of the competitive landscape to anticipate, articulate and drive high-potential opportunities that enable a competitive advantage.

  • Is capable of communicating vision and ensuring the team’s work aligns with strategy and goals.

  • Skilled at leading through influence with key decision-makers within their own function and across related functions to successfully navigate Equifax’s organisation.

  • Has managed the executional rigour of the team to deliver product efforts on time to meet market demands.

  • Is a thought leader, delivering executive-level presentations and visual communication to convey the product vision.

  • Has owned the financial performance of a product portfolio, including investments and budgets.

  • Relevant product domain experience 

  • Expert in Design Thinking for innovation (e.g., using creative design thinking to develop innovative business solutions, applying creative and analytical tools to develop real solutions for real needs, including personas, empathy mapping, prototyping, and iteration models).
