Head of People & Culture

The Role

We’re looking for a Head of People & Culture with proven experience in high-growth, technology-driven environments - someone who can design people systems and shape culture that scale through rapid expansion.

This role combines strategic leadership and hands-on delivery: you’ll work directly with the CEO and executive team to set direction, while also owning execution across the full people lifecycle - from organisational design and performance to leadership development, talent, and culture.

It’s a rare opportunity to build the function from the ground up in a global, impact-led company that’s growing at serious pace.

About us

Lyrebird Health is transforming the quality and accessibility of healthcare by automating clinicians' most time consuming tasks. Thousands of clinicians use Lyrebird across many disciplines - and this number is increasing every day.

These clinicians trust us to deliver a fast, reliable, and secure experience, and we value this more than anything. We want to earn trust while continuing to amaze our users.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with the CEO and leadership team to design and execute the People & Culture strategy aligned to our global expansion.
  • Build scalable frameworks for workforce planning, leadership capability, and organisational design.
  • Strengthen Lyrebird’s performance culture - clear expectations, measurable outcomes, and continuous feedback.
  • Lead and mentor the People & Culture team across business partnering, talent acquisition, and people operations.
  • Drive employee engagement and EVP initiatives across Australia, the UK, and the Middle East.
  • Oversee policy, compliance, and governance in collaboration with Finance and Legal.
  • Partner with the CEO and CFO on executive hiring, succession, and compensation frameworks.

You'll Bring

  • 10–15 years in People & Culture leadership roles across technology or high-growth sectors.
  • Experience leading People & Culture through rapid scale - ideally within a high-growth or hyper-scaling technology business.
  • You know what it takes to build systems, leadership, and culture in environments that are scaling fast and constantly evolving.
  • Proven experience operating at global scale - ideally across multiple regions (AU/UK/US).
  • Strength in both strategic design and hands-on delivery; you can build the engine, not just advise on it.
  • Deep understanding of culture, engagement, and leadership development within a scaling business.
  • Commercial fluency - confident engaging with investors and leadership peers.
  • Energy, pace, and pragmatism; you balance empathy with accountability.

At Lyrebird, we don’t just write code — we help shape the future of the human experience.

If you want to pioneer, to create, and to see your work touch lives directly, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re building a team that reflects the diversity of the people who’ll benefit from our work. We want Lyrebird to be a place where everyone feels safe, supported, and able to thrive. If you’re from an underrepresented background in tech, we especially encourage you to apply — even if you don’t meet every single requirement.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
