Job Description
Join J.P. Morgan Payments as the Head of Payments Product in Sydney, you will be leading a dynamic team of product managers focused in promoting and developing end-to-end value proposition for J.P. Morgan Payments. The position is primarily responsible for the implementation of the strategy on new product development, growth of the P&L in Australia & New Zealand, product compliance, and delivery of key project initiatives.
As the Head of Payments Product in within J.P. Morgan Payments, you will serve as a subject matter expert on market requirements, solutioning client needs, and payments industry engagement. You bring extensive understanding of the regulatory landscape and clearinghouse rules to help ensure our products launch and adopted successfully.
You will manage Payments product solutions, including Automated Clearing House, Wires, real-time payments, FX, and liquidity services. It involves working closely with regional/global product partners, sales, functional partners on client strategy, investment and resiliency. Additionally, it involves managing business impact on regulatory changes, represent and advocate the bank on industry committees, and have oversight on arrangements with partner banks and third party providers.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of high performing product managers to deliver Global/Regional and Australia / New Zealand product agenda
  • Set the strategic agenda from a product development perspective, to support growth of the business through delivering payment solutions to drive new client acquisition and deepen existing client relationships
  • Drive and execute the commercialization strategy for Australia and New Zealand, including securing technology investments and attending client pitches and meetings, where required
  • Establish strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders across a wide range of disciplines (including Sales, Technology, Risk, Legal, Operations and Compliance etc.) to drive new initiatives and deliver complete solutions
  • Maintains an open relationship with market regulators and clearinghouses with insights into regulatory dialogue across the market and advocate our client use cases
  • Understands local market to define country value propositions and visions and stays abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes impacting the payments landscape
  • Anticipates internal and external factors impacting the business' governance and implements plans to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities
  • Identifies market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive landscape to strengthen countries positioning and socialize with internal stakeholders
  • Helps drive country footprint deepening and revenue growth through targeted commercialization plans
  • Ensure all new and existing products are in compliance with regulations and the firm's controls standards


Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Cash Management Product space
  • Highly motivated individual with significant experience in the commercial payments industry and proven knowledge of payment systems, banking operations, and financial technology
  • Advanced level knowledge of risk management and controls, regional and local nuances, and governance requirements
  • Proven ability to identify opportunities and develop strategies for market growth in line with regulatory requirements
  • Ability to present to senior clients, product solutions to solve their pain-points or provide efficiencies
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational skills, decision making and multi-tasking abilities
  • In depth Australia & New Zealand market banking regulation and the ability to front regulatory bodies and participate/ lead industry-wide initiatives
  • Expertise in product development, management or product delivery
  • Strategic thinker with ability to work in a systematic manner and develop a vision with the ability to motivate and drive tactical execution. Creative problem solver, capable of developing innovative and differentiated solutions.
  • Advanced communication, presentation, influencing and interpersonal skills with an ability to present complex information clearly to various stakeholders
  • Experience working in a complex matrix organisation
