SS&C GIDS Australia is expanding its Fund Administration services for small to medium-sized Fund Managers and uplifting its Superannuation fund accounting and financial reporting service. You’ll lead the team who provides Managed Fund Admin and Accounting services, including Investment Administration and Reporting, Unit pricing, Distributions, Performance reporting, Financial reporting, Portfolio Accounting IBOR, Compliance and Tax. The role will also be responsible for:

  • Collaborating closely with the SS&C Transfer Agency (Unit Registry) team to deliver a seamless, integrated service where clients want a bundled solution.
  • Superannuation Fund Accounting services.
  • Driving product innovation
  • Supporting an exciting growth pipeline.

What You Will Get To Do:

  • Drive Fund Admin strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Establish and refine accounting policies, procedures, and controls to enhance oversight and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee end-to-end Fund Accounting operations, ensuring seamless processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly fund performance, statutory reports, and tax lodgements (ASIC, APRA, BAS, and fund income tax returns).
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support tax policy implementation and compliance.
  • Ensure data integrity, overseeing the accurate flow of financial information from source systems to final tax returns.
  • Monitor and mitigate risks related to fund accounting, working closely with Risk & Compliance teams to maintain strong internal controls.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, serving as the primary liaison for auditors, regulators, and external partners.
  • Supervise tax compliance activities, ensuring timely payments, lodgements, and adherence to evolving tax regulations.
  • Monitor fund account reconciliations, including bank, asset, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Analyse and implement changes in accounting standards, preparing impact assessments and ensuring compliance.
  • Approve expenditures within delegated authority limits, ensuring fiscal responsibility and financial accuracy.
  • Validate and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly unit price calculations, ensuring precision and compliance with policies.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of fund accountants, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Provide training and career development opportunities to build expertise within the team.
  • Promote collaboration between internal departments and external stakeholders to drive operational success and client satisfaction.

What You Will Bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business, Commerce, or Superannuation Management, with RG146 compliance accreditation.
  • 8+ years in supervisory or management roles within fund accounting, financial reporting, and the superannuation and asset management industries.
  • Extensive experience managing stakeholder and outsourced provider relationships, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and driving operational efficiencies.
  • Strong business acumen, attention to detail, and ability to assess complex financial data to make informed decisions.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and build multi-level relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A commitment to exceptional customer service, both internally and externally, with a solutions-driven mindset.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, implement process improvements, and navigate evolving business landscapes effectively.
  • Experience in implementing best practices, optimizing business processes, and ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present insights effectively to diverse audiences.
