This role can be performed remotely from anywhere in Australia or on a hybrid basis from our Brisbane HQ.
The Role
As Head of Finance, you’ll partner closely with our CFO to lead and strengthen the finance function across the Group. You’ll oversee a lean but capable team of two permanent staff and four external contractors, drive process improvements, and ensure our finance function is resilient and scalable as the business grows. You’ll also support future M&A activity and act as a trusted advisor in shaping financial strategy.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with the CFO to deliver strategic finance initiatives and lift team capability
- Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, and smooth operations
- Close out due diligence findings and embed compliance frameworks
- Strengthen cost control and reporting cadence to deliver timely insights for decision-making
- Ensure robust revenue recognition practices (AASB 15) and standardised billing across the Group
- Own month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy and timeliness
- Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisers, and banking partners
- Champion continuous improvement across finance processes, systems, and reporting
About You
- CA/CPA qualified with 7+ years’ post-qualified experience
- Strong technical grounding (revenue recognition, compliance, audit, tax) combined with commercial acumen
- Proven track record in finance process improvement and transformation
- SaaS, technology, or PE-backed business experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to guide a high-performing team
- Strong systems capability (Xero, HubSpot, BI/reporting tools desirable)
