We’re seeking a Head of Engineering to join our leadership team. Reporting directly to the CTO, you’ll play a vital role in shaping Kogan.com’s technology future. You’ll oversee six cross-functional squads across web, data, mobile, and order fulfilment, with direct reports. Your focus will be balancing fast delivery with solid engineering foundations, collaborating closely with product and delivery teams to create exceptional customer outcomes without compromising speed or stability. As part of the leadership group, you’ll drive key technical decisions, from architecture and tooling to best practices and scaling strategies. You’ll also cultivate a high-performance culture that empowers teams to own their work, move with clarity, and deliver real impact. Balancing business priorities with team growth, you’ll ensure delivery stays sharp.
What you’ll be doing:
- Drive architecture and development of the e-commerce platform.
- Leading and coaching engineering talent, supporting team members’ career growth, performance, and ongoing learning.
- Championing a strong and pragmatic engineering culture focused on high performance.
- Driving AI adoption and experimentation across engineering teams to unlock smarter, faster ways of working.
- Getting involved in technical discussions, troubleshooting, DevOps, and scaling efforts when needed.
- Driving cohesion across squads, ensuring teams work together effectively.
- Partnering closely with product and delivery to prioritise, ship, and iterate quickly.
- Balancing business priorities with team health and agile ways of working.
- Leading and enabling cost optimisation efforts, driving smarter decisions across systems, resourcing, and architecture.
- Leading the technical leadership group to shape technical direction and align on key decisions across engineering.
