As Head of EI&C Advanced Synthesis BioConjugates, you are responsible and accountable of all different EI&C Plant Engineering Teams in Advanced Synthesis BioConjugates Visp. You are responsible and accountable for all aspects of engineering, maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration of the assigned assets and systems. You will lead a team of Senior EI&C Plant Engineers, engineers and specialists in the respective areas. You will be accountable for the performance and results of the assigned area and teams including cost control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setting up and managing a team of EI&C Plant Engineers, EI&C engineers and specialists. Gives leadership to the team with full responsibility for all aspects of human resource management such as qualification, development, coaching, hiring, pay decisions and discipline issue.

  • Responsible for resource and vacation planning of the assigned team members with regard to the fulfillment of all production orders.

  • Responsible for control of own cost, identifies and implements cost reduction measures

  • Ensures a good information exchange from the upper management levels to the team and the other way around through regularly team meetings and escalation of issues.

  • Implements the LONZA culture via openness for change and new ideas, cooperative teamwork and continuous improvement even outside his/her own area of responsibility. Implements a vision as service provider in his/her organization.

  • Responsible for implementing the Maintenance strategy, standards and concepts in the assets in alignment with the whole Lonza Visp site to ensure the required plant availability considering cost-effectiveness.

  • Initiation, preparation and management of feasibility and engineering studies, projects and investments.

  • Responsible for all aspects regarding engineering, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration of the assigned assets / systems like DeltaV, MES, PLC’s and User access administration in coordination and support from the local Systems Specialist teams.

  • Maintaining qualification status (regarding cGMP and safety) of production plants. Supporting the production manager in engineering and maintenance topics.

  • Continuously work on potential improvement of internal processes and innovation.

  • Representing EI&C qualification and calibration during inspections by authorities and customer audits.

  • Adherence to technical directives and laws (Lonza Standards, SVTI, ATEX and machinery directive, SOPs, etc.).

  • Ensures and manages the interfaces to Manufacturing, Plant Engineering, QA and QC.

  • Supports the preparation of GMP and Safety risk assessments and introduces expertise into these risk analyses.

  • Functional Responsibility as "specialist/expert" for assigned topic according CHVI-7873 "EMR-Fachverantwortung" and as member of a knowledge management team (KMT).

  • As a member of the Advanced Synthesis BioConjugates Plant Engineering Leadership Team responsible for all aspects representing his area.
