  • Oversee the effectiveness of CoinJar’s transaction monitoring, enhanced due diligence, blockchain surveillance and case management controls, working closely with the Financial Crime (FinCrime) team to continuously improve monitoring, investigation and escalation processes.
  • Work closely with Legal, FinCrime and teams across the business to ensure regulatory requirements are translated into proportionate and effective operational controls.
  • Oversee compliance with Australian financial services regulatory requirements, including obligations arising under Australia’s Australian Financial Services Licensing regime.
  • Oversee compliance processes relating to complaints, incidents, breaches and regulatory notifications.
  • Provide timely compliance input into new products, tokens, customer journeys, marketing and other material business changes.
  • Provide functional leadership and coordination to regional Compliance Managers and MLROs, while recognising jurisdiction-specific responsibilities
  • Coordinate staff training on regulatory obligations, AML/CTF awareness, and risk management protocols.
  • Monitor relevant regulatory developments across CoinJar’s markets and proactively advise the Board and management team on material changes and their impact on the business.
  • Lead or support engagement with regulators, industry bodies, working groups, banking partners and other key external stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Significant experience in a senior compliance, AML/CTF, financial crime or regulatory roles within financial services, payments, digital assets, fintech or another highly regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian AML/CTF obligations and experience overseeing an AML/CTF compliance framework.
  • Strong understanding of Australian financial services regulation.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clear, pragmatic regulatory advice to senior executives and business teams.
  • Experience coordinating compliance responsibilities across multiple jurisdictions is highly regarded.
  • Digital asset, cryptocurrency, payments or fintech experience is highly regarded.

Benefits
  • Professional development opportunities and continuous on the job training and education
  • Employee Incentive Plan shares financial success with staff

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
