As the Head of Commercial you will be responsible for developing and executing the commercial strategy to drive revenue, profitability, and market share across multiple revenue streams across our hotel, resort and vacation clubs. This hands on role requires strong leadership in revenue management, sales & marketing, distribution, and business development to ensure sustainable growth and long-term customer engagement.
HOW YOU'LL SHINE
Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Take a hands on approach to develop and implement a comprehensive commercial and revenue strategy that integrates, hotel operations, vacation ownership and other revenue streams to optimise profitability.
- Oversee pricing strategies, revenue management, and demand forecasting across hotel bookings, vacation ownership inventory, and rental programs.
- Identify new market opportunities, strategic partnerships, and expansion potential for hotels, resort vacation ownership offerings.
Revenue Management & Distribution
- Oversee hotel and vacation ownership revenue management, implementing dynamic pricing strategies based on demand, seasonality, and market conditions.
- Manage the mix of direct vs. indirect bookings, reducing distribution costs while maximising profitability.
- Leverage technology (e.g., RMS, CRM, and analytics tools) to enhance forecasting, demand planning, and customer segmentation.
Sales & Marketing Leadership
- Lead the Hotel and Resort Sales & Marketing strategies for the APAC region, while also driving strategies that drive vacation ownership sales and membership growth.
- Oversee marketing campaigns, digital lead generation, and direct sales initiatives to revenue and attract prospective owners.
- Ensure an integrated distribution strategy across direct and third-party channels (OTAs, GDS, direct bookings, and vacation ownership platforms).
Vacation Ownership & Membership Sales
- Assist the Vacation Ownership team to develop strategies that accelerate club membership programs.
- Involvement in launching owner engagement programs, loyalty initiatives, and referral marketing to drive repeat sales and retention.
- Optimise the rental program for non-utilised vacation ownership inventory, balancing owner stays with revenue-generating opportunities.
Revenue Management & Distribution
- Oversee hotel and vacation ownership revenue management, implementing dynamic pricing strategies based on demand, seasonality, and market conditions.
- Manage the mix of direct vs. indirect bookings, reducing distribution costs while maximising profitability.
- Leverage technology (e.g., RMS, CRM, and analytics tools) to enhance forecasting, demand planning, and customer segmentation.
Commercial Partnerships & Business Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, and online platforms, vacation ownership exchange companies.
- Identify and develop strategic alliances, sponsorships, and co-branded initiatives to enhance brand reach, leads, database and revenue streams.
- Negotiate and manage third-party contracts with vendors, sales partners, and technology providers.
- Look for opportunities to grow TNL's portfolio
Financial & Performance Management
- Set and monitor KPIs related to RevPAR, ADR, CPOR, timeshare sales, membership retention, and overall revenue growth.
- Work closely with finance and operations teams to ensure commercial strategies align with financial goals.
- Prepare and present business performance reports, forecasts, and investment recommendations to senior leadership.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop the commercial team, including sales, revenue management, marketing, and vacation ownership sales teams.
- Foster a high-performance culture with clear goals, accountability, and professional development.
- Collaborate with operations, F&B, and guest experience teams to ensure alignment between commercial objectives and service delivery.
Success Metrics:
- Growth in RevPAR, ADR, vacation ownership sales, and total revenue.
- Increased conversion rates for timeshare sales and membership renewals.
- Improved competitive positioning in both the hotel and vacation ownership segments.
- Enhanced engagement and repeat business from vacation ownership members.
- Effective management of distribution costs and revenue optimisation strategies.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 5+ years in commercial leadership roles within hospitality, vacation ownership, or resort management, with a proven track record in revenue growth.
- Strong expertise in vacation ownership sales, revenue management, digital marketing, and business development.
- Deep understanding of timeshare models, exchange programs, hotel distribution, and loyalty programs.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
