About the role

We’re looking for a strategic and creative Growth Marketing Design Contractor to join the Goodnotes Marketing team. This is a full-time contractor role based in Asia, with the flexibility to work remotely, from our Hong Kong office, or in a hybrid setup. In this role, you’ll partner closely with our Brand Design Lead and Growth Marketing team to concept and execute high-performing design assets that fuel customer acquisition and engagement.

You’ll be responsible for delivering digital-first, conversion-optimised visuals for campaigns across paid social, email, website, and product landing pages. Your work will have a direct impact on business growth—supporting experiments, campaigns, and creative iterations that drive performance in global markets.

This is the role for you, if you’re excited to work on any of the things listed below:
  • Designing digital marketing assets for paid media (meta, TikTok, YouTube, Google), CRM, and web that align with performance and brand goals.
  • Collaborating with the Growth and Brand teams to test and optimise ad creatives and landing pages based on data insights and campaign performance.
  • Contributing to growth-focused creative ideation—from quick-turn concepts to iterative testing frameworks.
  • Taking ownership of asset production across a range of formats, specs, and channels, while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Maintaining a strong grasp of the Goodnotes brand and applying it with flexibility across performance marketing needs.
The skills you will need to be successful in the above:
  • Written and spoken English proficiency is essential.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing digital-first marketing design work with measurable impact on campaign performance.
  • Deep understanding of design best practices for growth marketing, including direct response and mobile-first creative.
  • Required software skills: Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • “Nice to have” tools: After Effects or other motion tools for basic animations, Webflow or similar for no-code landing pages.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and adapt designs based on feedback from marketers, designers, and performance data.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working at pace in an iterative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 5–7 years of experience in digital design, with a strong emphasis on marketing and performance creative.
  • Experience designing for growth in a product-led or tech company—ideally in consumer, education, or productivity sectors.
  • Experience working with or within performance/growth teams.
Interview process
  • Apply: Submit your updated CV along with a link to your portfolio.
  • Take-home challenge: We'll ask you to complete a short design task to get a feel for your creative thinking and execution.
  • Role specific interview: A one-hour conversation via video with our Head of Marketing and/or Brand Design Lead to get to know you, your work, and how you think about growth-focused design.
  • Panel Interview: 2-3 interviewers meeting with you in one video call to ask questions and assess your fit for the role, the company, and its values.

Note: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background checks, including verification of employment, education, and criminal records.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
