We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and detail-oriented Group Senior Accountant with a focus on taxation to join our Group Reporting team. In this key role, you will manage the company’s tax compliance, reporting, and strategy. This hands-on position requires a strong understanding of financial reporting, particularly in taxation. You will collaborate closely with management, external advisors, and auditors to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance & Reporting: You will oversee the timely and accurate preparation of tax returns, including income tax, GST, FBT, and other statutory filings. You will ensure compliance with tax regulations, adherence to tax accounting standards, and prepare financial information and analysis to support the Group's statutory reporting and financial statements related to taxation.
Tax Strategy, Planning and Risk Management: You will develop tax-efficient strategies to minimize the company’s tax burden while ensuring compliance. You’ll advise senior management on the tax implications of strategic decisions, manage tax risks, and collaborate with auditors, external advisors, and legal counsel. You will also handle tax audits, protect the company’s interests in disputes with the ATO, and monitor legislative changes, advising on necessary adjustments.
Accounting and Reporting: You will maintain ledgers and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial statements for Group accounts, such as employee expenses, and prepare financial information to support statutory reporting.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor of Business, Commerce, Accounting or Finance related tertiary discipline.
- CA or CPA qualified, with a strong technical accounting foundation. Big 4 experience is highly regarded.
- Proven experience in tax management, preferably within an ASX-listed company or similarly complex, mid-to-large scale organisations.
- Results-focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines, while ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Strong capability to lead and build effective relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical abilities and effective communication, with a demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders.
- High-level organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure and drive results.
- Self-driven, with the ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions within appropriate boundaries and delegations.
