The Group Manager - Financial Crime and Gaming Compliance Assurance is an essential part of the Group Risk and Compliance team and accountable for development, implementation and ongoing leadership of line 2 Financial Crime and Gaming Compliance Risk Assurance team. This position is responsible for developing and enhancing risk assurance capabilities that proactively detect, prevent, and mitigate financial crime and gaming compliance (including safer gambling risks). The Manager will analyse control effectiveness and issues/ risks to identify key focus areas for reviews to to support operations/ business (line 1) teams to plan remediation/ corrective actions to improve compliance levels. 

This position collaborates with cross-functional internal teams across 3 lines of defences to build synergies around assurance reviews and enable the business to address areas of risk for timely remedial solutions.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role

  • Lead and manage the Assurance team, driving effective risk assurance outcomes.
  • Develop, deliver, and refine the Risk Assurance Methodology. 
  • Design, implement, and execute the Assurance Plan and compliance test plan (with an understanding of Controls framework) to assess the effectiveness of financial crime processes, systems, and controls.
  • Review planning and integration with Business Capacity Planning. 
  • Contribute to the design of AML/CTF and Gaming Compliance policies and frameworks that support compliant outcomes in alignment to the Group Assurance framework. 
  • Provide input into the successful delivery of Financial Crime and Regulatory transformation initiatives.
  • Establishing a suite of tools enabling ongoing Design and Operating effectiveness review and reporting. 
  • Review Obligation Compliance Plan (OCP) reporting for AML/CTF and Gaming Compliance risks and work with Senior Group Manager - Financial Crime and Gam
  • Work with the business to identify appropriate corrective actions to address control gaps and evaluate the process/policy improvements planned, thereby elevating the opportunities to reduce non-compliance incidents. 
  • Challenge colleagues to build efficient, world-class risk management controls and processes.
  •  Act as a subject matter expert in AML/CTF regulations and possess working knowledge of gaming compliance regulations and related execution risks. 
  • Support ongoing key business projects enabling their implementation and change management with a better recognition of residual risk and continuous improvement.

 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience (5+ years) leading an effective team of assurance, audit or risk in financial crime or gaming compliance. 
  • Thorough understanding of the financial crime regulatory framework with deep technical knowledge and expertise of AML / CTF and Sanctions obligations. 
  • Experience interrogating large data sets to identify actionable insights. 
  • Experience interrogating large data sets to identify actionable insights. 
  • Experience creating or utilising test scripts/procedures 
  • Experience working on regulatory compliance or financial crime risks 
  • Stakeholder management skills to build and foster positive relationships. 
  • Strong initiative, time management and exceptional communication skills.
  • Relevant experience in assurance or internal/external audit, focusing on risk and compliance domains (desirable)
  • Advanced data analytics and visualisation skills and ability to work constructively with data/technology stakeholders (desirable).
