The Opportunity
The Group Finance Manager, reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, plays a pivotal role in leading the management accounting and finance function for the Group’s core business. Overseeing a team of three direct reports, this role is responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and insightful management reporting.
A key focus is on proactive business partnering to drive improved financial performance and support strategic decision-making. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement. Together with the Senior Finance Manager, the Group Finance Manager ensures the finance function adds real value across the business.
Key responsibilities:
Provide expert interpretation of legislation, accounting standards, and policies, and develop tailored, organisation-specific financial policies.
Deliver strategic financial advice and insights to senior leadership, ensuring business planning and new initiatives are informed by sound accounting implications.
Lead the development of comprehensive budgets and forecasts aligned with organisational procedures and sector standards.
Analyse financial data, assess funding impacts, and identify trends to support strategic planning and enhance organisational capability.
Recommend and implement improved audit, compliance, and financial risk controls, while leveraging emerging technologies to enhance financial systems and processes.
Required Skills and Competencies
Experience in management accounting, with a solid understanding of project-based accounting and complex, multi-entity consolidations.
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with BI and reporting tools is highly regarded.
Possess strong commercial acumen and the ability to communicate financial insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Thrive in fast-paced, complex environments with the ability to manage competing priorities; CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent) preferred.
