About the Job
Are you a proactive and creative Product Engineer looking to be part of the global team that leads product innovation? Do you want to make a difference at a global ASX listed market leader with outstanding credentials in sustainability? This may be the opportunity you have been waiting for.
As part of the Global Product Innovation team, you will develop and maintain an active global pipeline of new product initiatives within a critical growth category for our business. Working in liaison with key senior stakeholders, both globally and in Australia, you will be setting the pace for global innovation and see your work realised in local, regional and global supply chains. This role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, and reports directly to the Global Head of Product Innovation, based in Atlanta.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Lead and support the design, development, and validation of innovative circular products and materials that meet performance, cost, customer and sustainability goals across CHEP’s global operations
- Manage complex cross-functional projects, applying technical expertise and analytical rigour to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions
- Develop and maintain customer, industry and supplier relationships to enable the effective sourcing, assessment and delivery of new product opportunities
- Drive continuous improvement and collaboration across internal teams and external partners to accelerate time-to-market and enhance product value
- Leverage innovation insights from other teams to enhance product differentiation and portfolio value
- Support the Australian business in all aspects of product innovation and development

What will ensure your success
- Tertiary qualifications in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Experience in product or industrial engineering with a strong technical foundation across plastic design, engineering and production (recycled or sustainable materials!)
- Exposure to the FMCG/packaging industry or related would be highly advantageous
- Some knowledge of the movement of goods through a complex supply chain model would be advantage
- The ability to solve complex engineering challenges with a practical and functional lens
- Proficiency in engaging, influencing, and building relationships with diverse stakeholders across different levels and cultures
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast paced environment
- A natural self-starter who can drive customer initiatives and deliver change-and-engage activities
