Job DescriptionAt NCS, you’ll architect production‑grade generative AI platforms on Azure, not lab experiments. This role sits at the intersection of cloud strategy, enterprise architecture, and AI delivery — designing solutions that leverage Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Studio, Azure Machine Learning, Cognitive Services, and vector search patterns (Azure AI Search) within real‑world constraints. You’ll shape end‑to‑end architectures that integrate securely with existing Azure estates using Entra ID (Azure AD), Private Endpoints, VNET‑isolated services, API Management, and event‑driven patterns, ensuring solutions meet sovereignty, identity, and availability requirements. The work is complex, mission‑critical, and impactful — building AI systems that operate at scale across government and enterprise environments.
NCS is investing heavily in enterprise‑ready GenAI, and you’ll be central to taking ideas from concept to cloud‑native reality. You’ll define reference architectures and solution blueprints covering system design, data pipelines, model orchestration, and deployment strategies across AKS, Azure Container Apps, Functions, and Logic Apps, with CI/CD and MLOps enabled through Azure DevOps, GitHub, and Azure ML pipelines. Proof‑of‑concepts aren’t throwaways here — they’re structured technical evaluations focused on latency, cost optimisation, model selection, prompt and retrieval strategies, and operational readiness. You’ll also establish architectural guardrails for observability, resilience, and lifecycle management using Azure Monitor, App Insights, Log Analytics, and cost governance controls, enabling teams to innovate safely and repeatedly.

You’ll mentor engineering and data teams, uplift solution quality, and champion Responsible AI and security‑by‑design, embedding controls for data protection, access management, model governance, and compliance from day one. This includes aligning GenAI solutions with Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, Purview, and responsible AI frameworks, so innovation never outpaces trust. Working shoulder‑to‑shoulder with architects, security specialists, data scientists, and business leaders, you’ll help NCS build scalable, secure, and repeatable Azure AI capabilities — turning cutting‑edge technology into trusted platforms that deliver real outcomes. Qualifications- Demonstrated experience architecting and deploying generative AI and machine learning solutions in production environments
- Advanced proficiency with Azure AI services, including Azure OpenAI, Azure Cognitive Services, and Azure Machine Learning
- Strong expertise in large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and generative AI frameworks
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, or Java for solution design and prototyping
- Deep understanding of cloud architecture principles, including scalability, security, reliability, and cost optimization
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data pipelines and data governance frameworks
- Proven ability to lead technical teams, mentor engineers, and drive architectural decisions in complex environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate trade-offs and make decisive architectural recommendations
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) or Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI-102) certification
- Experience with multi-cloud architectures (AWS, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of AI governance, responsible AI practices, and ethical AI implementation
- Experience in regulated industries with compliance and security requirements
- Background in data science or machine learning engineering
