As the Gas Engineer for the Global Facilities & Construction North Asia Regional Department at Micron Technology, you will play an instrumental role in ensuring the latest planning, build, construction, and maintenance of Bulk and Specialty Gas systems across our semiconductor manufacturing sites in China, Taiwan, and Japan. Responsibilities and TasksOffer Technical Support, Direction, and Expertise
- Offer consultation and support to Site Facilities & Manufacturing teams in North Asia as the Technical Field Subject Matter Expert.
- Collaborate with internal partners including Technology Development Team, Procurement, Finance, and Legal.
- Develop, review, and maintain Micron system standards, specifications, and Established Procedures (EPs).
- Ensure standardization and alignment across the North Asia network for engineering concepts, construction projects, and operations practices.
- Analyze system builds for performance improvements, efficiency gains, and cost savings.
- Support sites with problem analysis using standard tools and methodologies.
- Benchmark engineering guidelines and BKMs within and outside Micron.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advances, and sustainability initiatives.
- Support build and construction teams in North Asia for large-scale facilities infrastructure projects.
- Develop and maintain global build and construction standards.
- Build system design concepts for deployment in projects.
- Communicate with local collaborators to ensure project objectives are met.
- Review build packages and provide feedback.
- Support cost and schedule estimates.
- Supervise consultant resources.
- Ensure change management procedures are followed.
- Monitor progress and provide support during construction.
- Ensure compliance with standards, codes, and regulations.
- Review capacity planning databases and validate assumptions.
- Participate in capacity and scenario planning.
- Develop and maintain Micron Global BKMs emphasizing reliability and performance.
- Lead global facilities programs and initiatives, defining objectives and implementation plans.
- Lead sustainability programs for emissions, energy, water, wastewater, and green infrastructure.
- Collect and consolidate lessons learned for incorporation into global standards.
- Follow safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance.
- Understand and deploy local permit policies and regulations.
- Actively participate in the EHS program by reporting concerns immediately.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of gas engineering.
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Strong teamwork and peer relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize projects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in English; additional fluency in East Asian languages preferred.
