Join a healthcare tech project as a Full Stack Engineer to build a growing benefits platform. Responsibilities include UI development, real-time API integration, and feature delivery in an agile environment.
Overview
We’re looking for two Full Stack Engineers to join a high-impact healthcare technology project. You’ll help build and scale a benefits platform that makes it easier for people to access life-saving medications. This platform is preparing for significant growth and seasonal demand in early 2026 - and you’ll be part of the team driving performance, new feature development, and real-time integrations.
This is an opportunity to work with a modern tech stack (Next.js, Node.js/TypeScript, AWS Lambda), contribute directly to product features that matter, and operate in a collaborative, async-first environment.
Key Responsibilities- Optimize data loading and UI rendering for scale
- Build new, customer-facing user interfaces with Next.js
- Integrate machine learning predictions into user views
- Connect the platform to external REST APIs for real-time insights
- Capture usage metrics and display through Datadog dashboards
- Contribute to an agile delivery model (two-week sprints, daily standups, async collaboration)
- Own your work end-to-end: from planning, to building, to testing (no separate QA or BA teams)
Must-Have Experience:
- 3–6 years as a Full Stack Engineer
- Next.js (React) for modern front-end development
- Node.js + TypeScript, with hands-on AWS Lambda experience
- Strong understanding of modern web development and data structures
- Comfortable working independently and testing your own code
Nice-to-Haves:
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL and writing efficient queries
- Experience with SST (Serverless Stack) or other IaC frameworks
- Knowledge of Datadog instrumentation
- Previous work in healthtech or benefits platforms
- Node.js / TypeScript
- Next.js (React)
- PostgreSQL
- AWS Lambda, Middy
- SST (Infrastructure as Code)
- Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket
- Established CI/CD pipelines
- High impact: Your work will directly improve patient access to critical medication
- Modern stack: No legacy baggage, you’ll work with the latest frameworks and cloud-native tools
- Autonomy & ownership: Define, build, and deliver features in a team that values independence and results
- Remote, with strong overlap required in US time zones (PST/CST)
- Contract through February 2026, with potential to extend
- Start ASAP (ideally within 2 weeks)
- Virtasant technical screen (includes Codabyte assessment)
- Single 45-minute client team interview (no live coding test)
- Offer & onboarding

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene
Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
