What You’ll Do
Product & Technology - Software Engineering & IT develops and maintains Telstra's software and IT systems, working on some really cutting-edge technologies.
- Design and implement responsive user interfaces using modern front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks (primarily React JS).
- Develop server-side applications and RESTful APIs using back-end technologies such as Java and Spring Boot.
- Integrate front-end and back-end components to create a seamless user experience.
- Perform database design and development, including data modelling, queries, and optimization.
- Ensure the application's performance, security, and scalability meet industry best practices and project requirements.
- Test and debug web applications to identify and resolve issues.
- Continuously improve and refactor code for better performance and maintainability.
- Collaborate with DevOps engineers for smooth deployment and release processes.
- Stay up to date with latest technologies, frameworks, and industry trends.
- Participate in code reviews, provide feedback, and mentor junior developers.
- Organize and conduct showcases for product owners and stakeholders.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with more than 3+ years' experience and a strong portfolio.
- Experience in Java 17+ and JavaScript.
- Solid knowledge of back-end technologies like Java, Spring Boot, and databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Proficiency in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React 16 and above
- Knowledge of accessibility tools and guidelines.
- Working knowledge of JIRA.
- Ability to fix SonarQube issues.
- Experience in deploying code on the cloud
- Ability to coordinate deployment activities.
- Experience with Selenium and Postman (or other API testing tools).
- Knowledge and experience of REST APIs and Apigee.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools like Splunk, New Relic etc.
