Gather is an events app changing how events are organized and discovered across Australia and Aotearoa, supporting everything from house parties to multi-day music festivals. We’re a team of passionate artist-engineers building a modern replacement for Facebook Events: party invites, effortless ticketing, and AI-powered discovery.
🔎 Who we're looking forOur ideal candidate is a highly experienced engineer who combines deep technical expertise with a passion for building great products. You have a proven track record shipping high-quality software frequently and reliably, with a keen eye for user experience and a meticulous attention to detail. You’re extremely pragmatic, always looking for the quickest way to ship a credible “version zero” to production.
We’re an AI-forward company. Ideally you’ve already been experimenting with agent-style coding workflows, e.g. orchestrating swarms of multiple instances of Claude Code (and similar tools) to work on several problems at once. Overall we’re looking for an experienced developer who can see what’s on the horizon with AI-powered workflows and their impact across all aspects of software, and who takes a pragmatic, lean-in approach.
💼 About the roleAs our first employee, you'll work directly with our two founders building features like our AI discovery engine and festival organiser tools. You’ll be deeply involved in defining our technical direction and contributing significantly to our early growth and culture. Ideally you’ll be able to jump in as needed to solve urgent technical challenges, whether individually or by supporting team members.
