Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Forecasting
- Develop and implement short term and long-term business growth strategies to achieve sales targets.
- Provide accurate monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual business forecasts.
- Own metrics to analyse and track business performance (market share / penetration, competitiveness, cost analysis; market, product, service strategy requirements) and communicate them with internal departments as and when required.
Sales
- Constantly review and manage OEM and EPC relationship towards a win/win partnership with the long-term objective of increasing John Crane product installed base.
- Generate a growth in existing OEM client base and develop new business to meet and exceed budgetary & strategic requirements within the Australian and New Zealand markets.
- Ensure that all sales transactions are profitable and adds to JCA’s bottom line.
- Make regular customers visits to enhance relationships and to provide regular updates of products and service offerings.
- Build excellent account relationships to maximize John Crane products and services perception.
- Identify sales potential, upcoming projects and market competition trends.
- Provide excellent customer service by reviewing, evaluating and communicating so as to meet and exceed customer expectation.
- Develop continuous innovation in our total solution offering utilising John Crane’s footprint to differentiate John Crane in the market place.
- Work closely with the internal John Crane network primarily winning new projects, whether through OEM or intercompany.
- Coordinate and liaise with various John Crane offices and departments on projects to ensure that communications and transactions are handled in the most expedient and efficient manner.
- Coordinate and update project information to other JC offices for necessary action.
- Generate monthly project reports to immediate supervisor for projects within Australia & New Zealand.
- Monitor orders to ensure that all necessary requirements such as documentation, specification, etc. pertaining to the order are met.
- Identify risk of all commercial terms involved to ensure that any penalties that need to be addressed are done so without delay prior to any acceptance of order.
- Liaise with internal departments such as engineering, purchasing, service and workshop to resolve any problem related to specification, deliveries, technical support and customer satisfaction, including expediting urgent orders.
- Keep abreast of market developments, especially new projects through networking with End User, OEM, EPC, other industry suppliers and ensure that updates/trends are freely communicated to all internal clients.
Reporting
- Provide required (ad hoc, weekly, monthly and quarterly) market and sales reports to the General Manager and the Strategic Management Team (SMT).
- Ensure that all sales information (Company level, business unit level and individual level) is reported on and communicated on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Travel Requirements
- It is anticipated that that incumbent will be expected to travel to key client sites in remote locations on an as required basis.
- The role is customer facing and a high degree of face-to-face customer engagement is required.
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience in a similar capacity
- Proven experience in a Sales Management or Business Development capacity
- 5+ years sales experience in a mechanical engineering, oil & gas or petrochemical related environment
- Knowledge in the rotating equipment, such as pump, compressors and pressure vessel or servicing of such related equipment
- Current Drivers Licence & Passport
