It’s a really exciting time in energy. Help us make a real impact on shaping a better, more sustainable future.

Role Mission

As a Financial Product Manager for Bookkeeping, you’ll be part of shaping Kraken's global financial integrity. You will drive the strategy and development of our foundational ledgers and transaction systems, enabling Kraken to remain compliant and performant in existing markets and scale into new ones. Your mission is to build and enhance a robust, transparent and auditable bookkeeping system that ensures the accurate management of customer balances, simplifies regulatory compliance and accelerates client migrations.

Primary Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Vision
- Own and refine the long-term product vision for Kraken's core financial systems
- Translate market needs, regulatory trends, client requirements and operational challenges into a clear product roadmap

Product Development & Delivery
- Oversee development and improvement of core bookkeeping processes (e.g., ledger creation, transaction accuracy, reconciliation and auditability)
- Define product requirements that strengthen data reliability, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance
- Lead the development of high-value bookkeeping products (like the Credit Storage Ledger). Own the strategy and execution for the successful rollout and acceptance of these innovations across all relevant clients and markets

Stakeholder Alignment & Discovery
- Act as the primary bridge between business teams (Finance, Sales, Delivery) and technical teams and ensure that the team’s roadmap, mission and progress is visible across the organization
- Conduct detailed discovery to advise clients on the optimal ledger configuration, minimizing complexity and setup time for new migrations

Performance and Data Integrity
- Use data to identify risks, reduce data inconsistencies and ensure financial audibility

Key Success Metrics & Outcomes

Your success in this role is defined by two areas of ownership. You will be responsible for balancing the roots beneath a beautiful forest (80%), which ensures our reliable, compliant system foundations, with the forest (20%) with the tall canopy, which enables capabilities that drive client differentiation.

Product Adoption & Innovation (Forest)
-Drive the creation of new bookkeeping solutions (e.g., Credit Storage Ledger) and make sure it has a high adoption rate across all clients
- Support new customer segments like Distribution to enable entry into new markets

Auditing & Compliance (Roots)
- Ensure ledgers and transaction logs are auditable for all clients in various markets, with all history and records documented
- Reduction in financial or billing-related complaints or discrepancies

Speed & Scalability (Roots)
- Faster client migrations and setups through optimal ledger configuration by providing clear, streamlined guidance on ledger configurations

  • Strong understanding of product management methodologies, agile development, and user-centric design

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications for engineering teams.
  • Fluent in English is required
  • The ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment and a curious mindset focused on continuous improvement and learning

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
