The Financial Controller role at Render Networks is a pivotal position that requires a deep understanding of financial compliance and reporting, as well as strong leadership and analytical skills. This role will work seamlessly and closely with our CFO who is also based in Melbourne.

In this role, you will:

  • Take ownership of and continually develop the finance function to meet the evolving needs of a fast-scaling business.
  • Oversee accounting, payroll, taxation, accounts payable, and accounts receivable for all entities across the Render Group (Australia and US).
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of month-end processes, including journal posting, transaction analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Guarantee compliance with applicable accounting standards and manage audits and tax returns in Australia and the US.
  • Provide insights through P&L and balance sheet analysis, identifying trends to drive business performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with the CFO on annual budgets, growth initiatives, and strategic financial projects.
  • Stay updated on key accounting changes and create position papers or policies as required.
  • Assist with financial modelling and commercial analysis to support decision-making for investment cases or growth opportunities.
  • Lead and develop a small Finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

To be a successful applicant, you will have:

  • A degree in Commerce or Business, alongside a CA/CPA qualification.
  • Early experience as a Financial Controller or extensive experience as a Senior Finance Manager, ideally within a fast-growth technology or SaaS organisation.
  • A strong desire to learn and keep developing skills as you gain unprecedented access to the ELT that only comes with working for a start up/scale-up organisation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of complex accounting standards and Australian financial compliance; US reporting knowledge is also highly desirable.
  • A passion for SaaS technology and its potential to drive industry transformation.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring the highest quality in accounting and financial leadership.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to empower and develop a high-performing team.
  • Experience with SaaS platforms and associated metrics; familiarity with construction domain technology is advantageous.
