We have a great opportunity for an experienced and motivated accounting professional to join our supportive team in the role of Financial Accountant.
Reporting to the Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant, the purpose of this role is to own the Financial Accounting for the Shared Services function. Key to this role will be collaborating with Teams across the business to deliver monthly financial accounting, operational analysis and process improvement to support business decisions.
Critical to your success will be your ability to communicate effectively at all levels along with the ability to adapt to change and transformation.
This is a full-time role based in Alexandria with Flexible work arrangements – (currently work from the office a minimum of 3 days per week).
More specifically, you will:
- Ownership of accounting processes for Shared Services including:
- Month-end accounting completed within set deadlines each month.
- Reconciliation of all relevant balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
- Analysis of month end results to investigate and understand variances to budget, forecast and prior periods.
- Presenting the Shared Services results to the Senior Finance team on a monthly basis.
- Work with the Payroll team to reconcile and maintain Employee related balance sheet accounts.
- Ownership of Workers’ Compensation reporting in conjunction with the Payroll team.
- Supporting the Reporting and Analytics team on monthly reporting as well as during budget and forecast preparation.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders in the business to be on top of the latest developments impacting the Shared Services departments.
- Identifying areas for process improvement to gain efficiencies and provide more relevant analysis.
- Assistance with the annual audit process.
- Other projects and ad-hoc work as required.
We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
- Qualified CA or CPA with 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Advanced Excel.
- Experience with SAP preferred but not essential.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels both verbal and written.
- Adaptability to and management of change and organisational transformation in high growth corporate environments.
- Strong technical skills and experience in Finance and Accounting.
