How you can help make a better world of work

We are looking for a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our financial reporting and compliance team. This role primarily will own the monthly financial close process, prepare the monthly and quarterly financial reports, prepare annual audited financial statements, ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, and manage the company’s Employee Stock Option Plans in compliance with the policies and regulations. 

The role requires hands-on involvement in the monthly R2R processes such as preparing and reviewing journal entries, preparing and reviewing reconciliations, troubleshooting complex accounting issues, building process improvements amongst others.

The Finance Manager will work closely with the Financial Accountant and the Director of Reporting and Compliance to deliver high standards of financial transparency, governance, and regulatory compliance, driving process improvements to optimise for scalability, delivering value-add financial information and insights required by our global, fast growth company that truly embraces putting culture at the forefront of everything we do. The Finance Manager will also collaborate routinely with the Financial Operations (FinOps) team including AR, AP, Payroll and Tax to ensure integrity of financial records on areas of the financial statements.

You will 

  • Financial Close and Reporting
    • Work closely with the Financial Accountant to ensure all accuracy and completeness of monthly financial records. This will include hands-on involvement in preparing reconciliations, posting ledger entries along with reviewing records prepared by the wider FinOps team.
    • Own the monthly financial reporting and close processes, in compliance with relevant local standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Own the quarterly reporting requirements, including investor reporting, bank reporting, and statutory reporting obligations.
    • Be a key collaborator for external audits and consulting work, ensuring the timely resolution of audit queries and the smooth completion of audit procedures.
    • Develop a robust understanding of the FinOps processes and systems underpinning each of these operational areas to help drive day to day financial reporting deliverables.
    • Direct oversight and responsibility for technical accounting matters, ensuring appropriate policies are implemented and adhered to relevant to scale.
    • Provide support for ad-hoc projects and analysis of key financial matters.
  • Team 
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on financial reporting and compliance processes to drive financial accuracy and insights.
    • Become a power user of NetSuite accounting system, recommending and implementing process improvements in the system for transactions and workflows as a result help to evolve the wider finance function.
    • Subject matter expert (SME) on financial reporting and compliance-related matters, offering recommendations to senior leadership on best practices, policy changes, and system improvements.
  • Compliance
    • Oversee the administration and compliance of the ESOP, including issuances, exercises,  secondaries and reporting of stock options.
    • Monitor and maintain compliance with business registration requirements
    • Establish, monitor, and maintain the system of internal controls that ensures the integrity of accounting processes and deliverables.

You have/you are

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CA / CPA (or equivalent) qualification 
  • 6+ years of experience in financial reporting and regulatory compliance including preparation of general purpose financial statements and year end audits.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards (GAAP/IFRS), coupled with experience researching and presenting complex technical accounting issues to a broader audience.
  • Experience with multi-jurisdictional financial reporting and analysis and statutory compliance.
  • Ability to design and implement accounting and finance related best practices, controls, and processes.
  • Strong technical skills in financial software, reporting tools, and ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You are able to work effectively across organisational and functional boundaries. You have a collaborative mindset.
  • Proactivity and initiative. You are capable of juggling multiple priorities in a dynamic, rapidly growing and fluid organisation. You are highly organised and skilled at creating structure in situations that are uncertain or ambiguous.
  • Deep curiosity and complex problem-solving skills. You are innovative with the ability to create differentiated analysis based on the situation. You are able to clearly and simply present key takeaways and make recommendations.
  • Results focus. Strong results orientation and accountability with the ability to solve problems and execute in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
