What you will do

The Executive Director Sales - BFS develops, communicates, and implements the strategic direction for the sales function within designated territories and/or accounts; acting as a conduit for regional input. This role leverages advanced Banking and Finance business and industry knowledge; while challenging the assumptions of potential customers in order to generate new sales opportunities through the creation of unique and compelling solutions, value propositions, messaging, positioning documents, and presentations that align CSG with our target markets.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and implement a strategic plan focused on enhancing business performance in the Australian Banking and Finance market with a primary objective of expanding into new accounts.
  • Develop and execute a “go to market” partnering plan while identifying, qualifying, and creating account plans. Successfully present a complete value proposition, negotiate terms, and close opportunities.
  • Teach the customer unique insights about how our products can help them compete in the marketplace and deliver ROI. Tailor messaging to decision-makers, influence the sales process, and build advocacy within customer organisations.
  • Lead the sales management process for the defined territory and/or accounts.
  • Track economic and industry trends as well as competitive threats, sharing insights with internal and external colleagues. Partner with pre-sales and solution architect teams to design and adjust solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Identify the customer requirements and partner with the pre-sales and solution architect teams to design a product set or solution to meet those requirements, champion the proposed solution, and adjust the solution as necessary for the customer.

What you will bring

  • Extensive sales experience: At least 8 years in software product and service sales, with a strong track record of exceeding quotas and delivering results in high-stakes environments, within the Australian Banking and Finance market.
  • Expert deal management: A demonstrated ability to lead large-scale software agreements (over $10M TCV), from identifying opportunities to closing deals, while forecasting and managing pipelines effectively.
  • Customer-centric approach: The skills to establish trusted advisor relationships with banking and financial institution clients, understanding their unique needs and crafting compelling business cases that drive value.
  • Market insight and strategic thinking: A deep understanding of industry trends and competitive landscapes, paired with the maturity to influence executive-level decisions and lead complex sales opportunities.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration: Advanced verbal and written communication skills to negotiate impactful deals and foster connections across diverse audiences.
  • Established executive contact base within the leading Australian Banking and Finance community.
