The Events Coordinator will plan and execute events for farmers, coordinating logistics, managing communications, and tracking event success.
About the role
Due to an internal promotion, we're looking for an Events Coordinator who’s great at doing one thing above all else: making things happen. This role’s about rolling up your sleeves and delivering events that connect with dairy and beef farmers in meaningful and down-to-earth ways.
Halter is changing the way farming gets done - giving farmers better data, more control and time back for the things that matter. Events play a huge role in how farmers experience Halter for the first time, who our team are and how we stay connected in the farming community.
You’ll work closely with our NZ marketing manager, Global Events Manager, and wider sales and marketing teams to plan and deliver regional and national events - this includes on-farm field days and major industry events like Mystery Creek Fieldays and regional expos.
If you love making things happen, being out on the farm learning from farmers to understand what great events could look like for them, and care deeply about great experiences, this role is for you.
This role involves travel around New Zealand for events, and requires that you have a full New Zealand driver’s license.
What your day could look like
- Planning and coordinating events: You’ll be executing on events from start to finish. This means making sure timelines are on-track, booking venues, coordinating suppliers, organising travel and accommodation, managing merch and signage.
- Execution and logistics: On event days, you’ll support on-the-ground logistics to help everything run smoothly. This might include setting up spaces, managing registrations, coordinating suppliers, and helping troubleshoot any issues that come up. You’ll also support pre and post-event communications such as invitations, reminders, follow ups and surveys, working with the wider marketing team to make sure materials are clear, accurate and on-brand.
- Working cross-functionally with sales and marketing: You’ll work closely with marketing, sales and wider customer teams to make sure everyone is aligned and well-prepared for each event. This includes internal coordination so sales teams understand the purpose and value of events, and marketing team members who are supporting you with artwork and promotion. You’ll help keep information flowing and timelines clear so events run smoothly.
- Tracking results and improving our events: You’ll help track event activity and outcomes - including registrations, attendance and other success metrics. You’ll support the collection of feedback and learnings to help improve future events and processes.
- Capturing content and supporting community: We love sharing what happens at events on social, and having a bank of farmer quotes that we can use. You’ll help capture content at events - taking photos and videos, collecting quotes and stories. You’ll also assist with merchandise ordering, gifting and other farmer love activities.
Who are we looking for
- Ready to roll up your sleeves: You enjoy getting into the details and making things happen. You’re reliable, organised (did someone say colour coordinated spreadsheets?!) and taking responsibility for your work.
- A clear and confident communicator: You love chatting with a range of people - from sales team members and suppliers to farmers at events. You’re friendly, practical and able to ask questions when something’s unclear.
- Keen to learn and grow: You’re excited to build experience in events and marketing. You take feedback well, enjoy learning new skills and are motivated to keep improving how things are done.
- Calm and capable: You stay level-headed when plans change or things go wrong. You’re solutions-oriented, escalate issues when needed and support the team to keep things moving.
- (A nice to have, but definitely not necessary) Got experience with farmers, farming or the rural industry. This could come from growing up rurally, working in agriculture, or spending time around farms so you understand what farmers resonate with. If this doesn’t apply to you, that’s ok! We’re looking for someone who’s interested in learning more about the industry and how we can keep running events that are awesome for farmers.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene
Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
