The Role
The APAC Health and Safety Program Manager will implement policies and practices focusing on preventing and eliminating injury and illness to employees and promoting a healthy and safe workplace, and as well as being responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and security laws and regulatory requirements for the APAC Region
You Will
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for inspecting, identifying, and mitigating security, safety, health, and environmental risks at Block facilities.
- Develop health, safety, and security strategies and playbooks for Block employees and facilities across all geographies.
- Create and schedule training programs to educate employees and cross-functional partners on best practices involving emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other health & safety-related topics.
- Monitor and audit compliance with safety and security procedures, including the development of tracking and record-keeping practices.
- Draft inspection and audit reports to document policy and systems inspection findings.
- Maintain records relating to the discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of any safety incident as required by law.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and manage projects with a team-oriented approach.
- Assist in managing vendors on health and safety matters as needed.
You Have
- Extensive knowledge of global environmental and security regulations and policies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work effectively, collaboratively, and cross-functionally with members at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple time-sensitive tasks effectively and independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally to Block's facilities.
Even better:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety, and Health, or related field required; Masters degree desirable.
- Five years of related experience preferred within a corporate security organization.
- Proficient with Apple MacOS, iOS, and cloud-based collaboration tools including Slack, and Gmail systems.
- A passion for Block and its customers.
