The Enterprise Risk Manager will have responsibility for ensuring Airwallex’s EMEA entities adhere to good risk governance practices and meet required licensing standards and internal policy requirements

What You'll Be Doing...

  • Overseeing and managing enterprise and operational risk for Airwallex's EMEA entities.

  • Providing risk management advisory, support and second-line oversight, review and challenge to risk and control self-assessments, root cause analysis, MI risk reporting, and key risk indicators tracking.

  • Establishing, developing, and implementing the ERM framework, risk governance, relevant policies and procedures to support EMEA entities and meet local operational needs and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborating with global, regional and local cross-functional stakeholders to ensure proper risk identification, assessment, management and documentation in line with Airwallex's risk management framework, risk appetite, and other applicable policies.

  • Assisting with implementation and providing regional support on enterprise risk management tools/systems for EMEA entities.

  • Providing expertise in designing and implementing risk management policies & procedures, practices and processes, governance and strategy to enable sustainable business growth.

  • Support new license applications for new products and geographic expansion within EMEA.

  • Providing regular risk reporting to the Risk (sub)committees and/or local Boards, as necessary.

  • Facilitate ongoing risk management training for cross-functional stakeholders to foster the organisation's risk culture.

What You Bring...

  • 5+ years of enterprise and operational risk management or similar experience within the financial sector

  • Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate and help non-experts understand applicable requirements

  • Strong writing skills, with attention to detail and the ability to generate original documents suitable for sharing directly with regulators and financial partners.

  • Excellent investigative, analytical and problem solving skills to identify trends and insights

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment by multitasking effortlessly and managing competing priorities under demanding deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, manage projects and drive results

  • Regulatory and fintech experience preferred
